Hello!
Hi! đź‘‹ My name is Ibrahim Alkenani,
Here's a bit about myself so you can get to know me better, and I'm eager to learn more about you.
My Professional Self

- I have been teaching computer science to K12 and high school students and have extensive experience as a teacher trainer.
- My journey in education has also included designing numerous courses in higher education, where I've worked closely with educational designers as a graphics designer assistant.
- I am completing my Master's degree in Learning Technology in Schools and Design Digital Learning in Schools at George Mason University and pursuing further studies.
- My professional interests focus on innovative online teaching strategies, community building in educational settings, and the development and integration of digital tools in learning environments.
- More information about my Graphic Design background and initiatives can be found on my professional social media.
My Personal Self
- I am originally from Saudi Arabia, where I live with my wife, Meaad, and our family.
- In our free time, we enjoy exploring the intersections of technology, design, health, and education through community projects and collaborations.
- I come from a culturally rich background that values education deeply, influenced by my family's emphasis on academic and professional growth.
- Outside of education, I am passionate about graphic design and often engage in projects that combine creativity with technology.
I'm happy to share with you one of the projects that we, as colleagues, filmed as a practical workshop. We used the available technology to reconstruct educational concepts while studying digital education design in schools.
I am so glad you shared your DDLS promotional video! Our new LTS teachers can get a glimpse of some of the exciting things we do in the program. It seems like so long ago when you all produced this, and yet time has just flown by. Thank you for sharing all these important highlights of your professional and personal life. I have to add to the list...best Arabic coffee and almond stuffed dates! I greatly appreciated all the ways you and lovely Meaad have shared your culture with us. Definitely a disadvantage of the online environment to not experience these treats! The purpose of this assignment was to foster your social presence (your ability to feel real in the online environment). You aced this challenge!
ReplyDeleteI will make these blogs available to the other class members soon. In EDIT 761, there will be opportunities to do more online collaboration so it will be important to have every chance possible to build connections and relationships.
Dear Dr. Hathaway,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words from Meaad and I.
It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since we created that video, but I’m glad it still resonates and provides a glimpse into the exciting work we’ve done in the LTS program. I’m truly honored that you enjoyed both the professional and personal highlights, and I’m especially thrilled that the Arabic coffee and almond-stuffed dates made such an impression! Meaad and I loved sharing our culture with everyone, especially in such environment that you made for your student and I agree there’s nothing quite like those in-person experiences.
I’m really looking forward to the opportunities for more online collaboration in EDIT 761. It’s such a valuable way to build connections and relationships, even in the virtual space.
